Universities in Budapest with international degree programs – 2023

There are many universities in Budapest that offer courses for foreigners, some of them only recently, such as the MOME for Art and Design. The most famous from a German perspective are: Semmelweis (medicine) and Andrassy (social sciences). Here is the complete list, also as a map below.

• • Andrassy University of Budapest: The only university outside the German-speaking world that operates exclusively in German. It was founded in 2001 as a multinational joint venture and offers master's and postgraduate courses in the fields of history, culture, politics, law, economics and administration.

• • Károli Gáspár University of the Reformed Church in Hungary is a Christian university in Budapest founded by the Reformed Church in Hungary. The university was named after Károli Gáspár, the Calvinist pastor who prepared the first complete Hungarian translation of the Bible in 1590. The university was founded in its current form in 1993, but has its roots in 1839. The university has four faculties and offers courses in theology, humanities, law and teacher training. The university also has international partnerships with other Christian universities and participates in various exchange programs.

• Tomori Pal College is a private higher education institution founded in 2004 in the small town of Kalocsa. In recent years, most of her teaching activities have focused on Budapest. After a period of dynamic growth, the college has established branches in Budapest and Kecskemét. The college offers courses in economics, social sciences and healthcare. The college is primarily committed to providing higher education opportunities for talented children from less affluent families.
